A LOOK AT DIETARY RECOMMENDATION : INTERACTIVE INFOGRAPHIC

OBJECTIVE

Review and pick at least 2 news blurbs and/or social media posts and create an interactive piece based on it.

CONCEPT

I chose a BBC article that discusses Non-O blood group and how they are linked to higher heart attack risk. From this, a ton of research and exploration was done and I came up a dietary recommendation based on your blood group, what you should be eating and what you should be avoiding. Later, linking them to the diseases that your blood group is most prone to and how eating certain things can help avoid risk of those diseases.

The design was inspired by the "plate" that we have all been introduced to in Kindergarten. The "plate" that shows you what you should have on your plate in terms of foods from different groups and how much you should have on your plate. I took that idea and created something that would be recognized by all through its simple visual of mimicking the dietary plate.

Click & Hover are the main features used. You can either view just the one blood group diet plate or you can click multiple ones to view them side by side and compare them to each other.

Knowing your appropriate diet according to your blood group will help better understand what you should and should not be eating, to avoid the diseases that you are most prone to, knowing these facts about your own group, or another’s group could be highly beneficial. Know  your blood group diet, maybe that will be the answer you have al-ways been looking for.
