PLANET FITNESS: RE- BRANDING

WHO ARE PLANET FITNESS?

Planet Fitness is unique in a way where they are trademarked as a “judgment free zone”, allowing them to successfully appeal to those who are looking to get fit and healthy without having to deal with intimidation. Planet Fitness has successfully established its individuality by expressing their “no judgment” policy, they have set up a safe and comfortable environment for those who are often intimidated by the thought of working out and being fit. They have created an environment where everyone feels both accepted and respected at the same time. 

CONCEPT

Planet Fitness is known as the type of gym you would join if you wanted to work out without any stress of being judged. They have a combination of purple, yellow and black as their color palette, all the colors they have chosen represent a certain value that they believe in. I wanted to design something that kept their values simply by eliminating their yellow and changing their tone of purple to a much more desaturated purple. I wanted to create something with a typeography based logo but at the same time have something that could be extracted as used as a symbol, once recognized.

This rebranding and identity was designed using Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe InDesign. It was created for a class at Savannah College of Art and Design. It has no connection to Planet Fitness.
